No training required, and after just 15 minutes, you can learn to create jaw-dropping images, videos and 360 panoramas with lightning-fast speeds.

Some unique features we think you’ll love

Content Rich

A huge and ever expanding library of content exists to embellish your worlds with animated people, trees, cars, animals, and more. Landscape professionals will love the street furniture and materials content and ability to import from vast external libraries.

Seeing is believing

Lumion not only lets you see your designs in 360-degree motion it also provides the sort of visual clues that draw you in to the design itself – from the light flickering on the water to the leaves blowing in the wind and falling on the ground!

Big library

To create wonderful visuals you need beautiful skies, water, grass, materials, plants, people, trees and many other objects. Lumion includes a huge content library with tools, materials and artistic effects. Everything is perfectly integrated so you can immediately add trees, people and other content to breathe life, lighting and atmosphere into your visualizations.

Do it yourself

Lumion enables anyone to create movies and images without any prior training. It’s a functional tool to make beautiful 3D rendering yourself. You don’t need to outsource visualizations any longer. This saves you time and money. All you need is a 3D model and Lumion will take care of the rest. With Lumion you get years of experience of computer graphics experts presented in a way that’s easy to access. Lumion is compatible with all 3D design software programs.

LiveSync

Model your design in a beautiful environment that’s so realistic, it’s like you’re pushing and pulling real-life buildings into shape.

Lumion® is for designers who want a better way to work. In SketchUp®, Revit® or ArchiCAD® use LiveSync, to immediately set up a live, real-time visualization of your model. Change the CAD model’s shape and you’ll see these changes taking place, in real-time, in Lumion’s breathtaking, lifelike environment. More programs that use LiveSync will be added in the future.

Big spaces

A lot of software struggles with large models or large areas. The unique technology of Lumion makes it very suitable for things like landscape and cityscape visualization. Effortlessly, you can edit large areas and add literally tens of thousands of trees, plants or buildings. We get a lot of feedback from our users that Lumion currently is the only software in the world which allows you to effortlessly edit and render such large areas. We’ve even had examples of a whole towns visualized in Lumion!

Very fast results

With Lumion you can edit your work in real-time. Everything is designed to save you time. This means you can set up a visualisation in just a few minutes and make fast alterations as you go. End results are rendered using GPU rendering technology. This ensures that your movies render in a fraction of the time required by other solutions. With the 3D rendering speed of Lumion you don’t need a render farm… But you do need a capable machine. Be sure to meet or better the system requirements for your hardware to get the best results.

Play with others

Lumion® supports ArchiCAD®, Revit®, ARCHLine.XP®, SketchUp®, LANDWorksCAD®, RealCAD®, IronCAD®, AutoCAD®, Vectorworks® and file formats such as DAE, FBX, SKP and DWG and more. As changes are made to your model in some CAD software such as Revit®, SketchUp® and ArchiCAD®, the model dynamically updates in Lumion®.

Big creativity

Traditionally visualization comes with many restrictions. Rendering takes a long time and software is almost always complex. Lumion completely turns this upside down by providing tools anybody can use. No training in graphics is required. Editing and rendering are almost instantaneous and this opens doors to new ways for your business to use the possibilities that visualization offers. For example, you can customize a video in real-time on the spot or you can add sketch effects to your visualization instantaneously with a click of your mouse, which immediately furnishes your work with a conceptual and artistic feel.

What's the difference between Standard and Pro?

Will Lumion run on my machine?

Lumion requires a Windows PC with a fast NVIDIA or AMD graphics card with at least 2GB memory. If your PC has a slow graphics card with less memory, or, if it only has an Intel HD graphics card, then your PC is unsuitable for Lumion. The result will be graphics errors and driver crashes if you try to use Lumion.

To be certain you are getting the right machine you can purchase Lumion and CAD-tuned Laptops directly from us or check with us first if you are thinking of buying a desktop elsewhere to confirm it meets the minimum specifications.

You can also check the Lumion System Requirements here to see if you can run Lumion on your current machine.

Does Lumion work on Mac?

Using Lumion on Macs is not officially supported, but it is possible to run Lumion on a Mac. To find out if it will work, please double-check that you have the following:

1. A relatively new intel-based Mac computer with a fast graphics card.
2. A Windows 10 license.
3. At least 100 GB free hard drive space for Windows 10 & Lumion.
4. Apple’s Bootcamp software for installing Windows 10.
5. The latest driver software for the graphics card.

For more information about running Lumion on a Mac, read more here.

What license options are available?

Lumion is available as a lifetime license that will continue to run for as long as your PC and operating system will support it.

You can install it on more than one computer in your organisation and use it on any of those machines, but not at the same time.

You can add more ‘seats’ to your initial license to allow you run multiple sessions at the same time. For example if you have 4 seats you can install on 10 machines but run on 4 machines at the same time.

You need to be connected to the internet in order to run the software as it checks your license when you start the software and releases the license when you close the software.

Can I on-sell my license Key?

General information about buying and selling Lumion License Keys

It’s not a problem to sell Lumion License Keys to other users if they’re no longer needed by you.

Important:
Act-3D and CAD International do not get involved and are not a party to the sale/purchase of the License Key. We cannot be held liable for any issues arising from either party not meeting the terms of the agreement they have reached in their sale and purchase arrangement.

For the buyer:
You are advised to get proof of ownership from the seller such as receipt for the original sale.

We don’t get involved in the money transfer, so make sure to use a reputable company for that. You’ll need a valid receipt for the money transfer from the seller in order for us to help you with the transfer to your name.

If you require any administative work to help gain proof of purchase and to transfer the license key then we charge a small fee for that service.

In the event that the seller continues to use the License Key after the transfer, we would arrange to have that License Key revoked and issue a new License Key to the person who bought the License Key so there is a safety net in case of abuse.

For the seller:
When the sale is made, forward the License Key number, and the name, address, company name etc of both the buyer and yourself as seller to us. We will then verify the details and facilitate the transfer of the License Key.

We do not authorize the sale or transfer of a License Key. We merely act on instructions from you to assist in the transfer of the License Key.

If the buyer does not transfer the money, we would revoke the License Key and then issue a new License Key to the seller so there is a safety net in case of abuse.

If you require any administative work to help gain proof of purchase and transfer the license key we charge a small fee for that service.

Does Lumion support remote desktop access?

Lumion 9.0 and newer versions are supported on some virtual PC/remote desktop platforms. We’ve listed a few third party providers in the link below that offer virtual cloud desktop services.

Important: Not all virtual cloud desktop offerings can run Lumion; many of them do not meet Lumion’s hardware requirements. Always check if the virtual cloud desktop you are purchasing has hardware that matches Lumion’s System Requirements.
