Lumion 2023

Bring your vision to life

You decide what the future holds.
Visualize it in Lumion 2023.

See the future with Lumion 2023 – Introducing ray tracing v0.9

The new Lumion 2023 marks the beginning of a new era for 3D architectural visualization.

Add realistic light, shadows, and reflections to your renderings at the touch of a button. The new ray tracing effect in Lumion lets you control the number of samples and bounces, giving you more control over the final result. With ray tracing switched on, your renderings will automatically show realistic indirect lighting, non-screen space reflections, contact shadows, and much more.

The scope of the new ray tracing effect will continue to be expanded and new additions will be easily made available thanks to the new software updater included in Lumion 2023.

The best of both worlds

Lumion 2023 represents a complete foundational shift. With a redesigned render engine that blends both rasterization and ray tracing,
you can now achieve greater realism in your renderings with even less effort.
Rendering isn’t just another step in the design process – it’s the moment your vision comes to life. Lumion 2023 was designed to keep you in your creative flow, so
you can visualize the future exactly how you imagine it.

New high-quality materials

Lumion 2023 comes with 98 new materials that you can use to add realism to your buildings’ surfaces or landscape designs. These include wood, stone, brick, plaster, metal, concrete, asphalt, soil, and grass.

On top of these additions, Lumion 2023 now has an improved glass material that lets you fine-tune every last detail of your project’s windows and other glass surfaces. You can now add a custom texture like relief or frostiness and adjust the distortion to your liking. The new glass material is currently not compatible with ray tracing v0.9.

Improved Scene Editor

Building your scene is one of the most creative parts of the rendering process. With a redesigned interface, Lumion’s scene editor prioritizes simplicity and ease of use. Arrange and rotate your assets with precision using the new gizmo and instantly align objects with the improved Auto Snap feature.

Aspect Ratios

Control the composition for your visualizations by rendering directly in your preferred aspect ratio. Choose from a range of formats, including square and vertical aspect ratios, and save time cropping your photos and videos post-render.

FAQ’s

Does Lumion work on Mac?

Maybe, but seriously it isn’t worth the trouble, especially now that the M1 chipset is the norm in Mac machines. The M1 is not supported at all. Even if you have an Intel based CPU the graphics cards in Mac machines are generally not up to par.

Using Lumion on Macs is not officially supported. Act-3D B.V. and CAD International provide no warranties on any of the functionality in Lumion and do not accept any liability claims arising from the use of Lumion on Macs.

We recommend running Lumion on Windows PCs as they can be configured with more powerful hardware than Macs which will make editing and rendering significantly faster.

Does Lumion work with my CAD software?

Lumion supports almost all modelling software such as ARCHLine.XP, Rhino3D, SketchUp, ArchiCAD, Revit, Vectorworks, BricsCAD, ARES, IronCAD, AutoCAD Architecture, IronCAD and many more. If you’re unsure, download the trial and check it out for yourself or ask us and we’ll check your model files for you.

Why is your price less than Lumion in Europe?

To encourage you to support Australian business we have made it a policy to offer the same product at a better price than if you were to purchase from Lumion in Europe – Guaranteed

Also, because we are in Australia and registered for GST, if you are too then you get to claim the GST back saving you a further 10%. You can’t claim it back if you buy from Europe.

What license options are available?

Subscription licenses that run for one year or three years and includes all upgrades.

You can install on more than one computer in your business and use it on any of those machines, but not at the same time.

You can add more users/’seats’ to your initial license to run multiple sessions at the same time. For example if you have 4 seats you can install on 10 machines but run on 4 machines at the same time.

You need to be connected to the internet to run the software as it checks your license online when you start the software, then releases the license when you close the software.

Does Lumion support remote desktop access?

Lumion 9.0 and later versions are supported on some virtual PC/remote desktop platforms. We’ve listed a few third party providers in the link below that offer virtual cloud desktop services.

Important: Not all virtual cloud desktop offerings can run Lumion; many of them do not meet Lumion’s hardware requirements. Always check if the virtual cloud desktop you are purchasing has hardware that matches Lumion’s System Requirements. Read more here
