Step 1: Export the License File from the USB Dongle

You must export the license information from the dongle before destroying it.

1.Plug your IronCAD USB dongle into the computer.

2.Go to your Windows Start Menu.

3.Search for and open the IronCAD License Management Tool.

4.In the tool, locate the USB License and select the option to Remove the license. Then export the license.

5.Save the exported file (usually an XML or LIC file) to your desktop.

Step 2: Destroy the Dongle and Capture Confirmation

For compliance with IronCAD’s licensing terms and to complete the switch, the physical USB dongle must be permanently destroyed.

1. Destroy the Dongle: Physically damage the USB dongle beyond repair (e.g., cut it in half, smash the plastic casing).

2.Take a Photo: Take a clear photograph showing the destroyed dongle where the original Hardware ID (the unique license number printed on the dongle) is still clearly visible.

1.The exported license file from Step 1.

2. The photograph of the destroyed dongle (showing the visible Hardware ID).
