IronCAD – you don’t have permission to save in this location
Question
When saving catalogues in IronCAD or making changes to the Sheet Metal list the following warning appears:
You don’t have permission to save in this location. Contact the administrator to obtain permission.
Answer
Windows is unable to make changes under Program Files due to user permissions.
To fix this issue, try disabling the User Account Control (UAC) under the Control Panel > User Accounts > User Accounts > Change User Account Control Settings > Never Notify.
Note: If you are currently using Windows 10, disabling the User Account Control might not solve the issue.
In that case, right click on the IronCAD shortcut icon, then click on Properties.
Go to the Compatibility tab, then check the ‘Run as an administrator’ checkbox, and click OK (you will only have to do it once).
