Reshape Planes in RealCAD / LANDWorksCAD / ArborCAD
Question
Is there an easy way to work with planes in RealCAD / LANDWorksCAD?
I would like to resize the planes easily using just a few clicks.
Answer
Working with planes in RealCAD / LANDWorksCAD is extremely easy, although to reshape planes can be not very intuitive.
Having a plane as shown below (made with lines, then filled plane by interior position), we would have to drag (modify) one of the lines…
… Then you would have to drag the second line ‘touching’ that point.
Refreshing the window will show the plane adjusted to the modified lines.
Now, to avoid having to alter 2 lines rather than one single point, we will define the outline of the plane by inserting curves instead. The curve degree must be 1, an it will be shown on the screen as lines, although by double clicking in any of the ‘lines’ will show that are curves instead.
Since we are drawing curves, we won’t be able to ‘close’ the boundary. There won’t be any snap option.
Instead, finish to draw the outline and then close the gap by selecting on of the lines and snapping to the other one, as shown below.
Now we are ready to insert the plane.
Next, pick a point and drag it to a different location. You will see that selecting a single point will resize both lines (curves 1 degree).
Refreshing your window will adjust the plane to the boundary 1 degree curves.
